4 Austin Bars to Put You in the Holiday Spirit

I don't know about you but I've been really feeling the holiday vibes this year. In the spirit of getting in the spirit, (and drinking some too) I've put together a list of places in Austin where you can feel a little holiday cheer this season. 

Lala's

Lala's is a bar with year-round holiday decor but it feels especially magical during Christmas. They have several holiday themed cocktails but, my personal favorite is "Santa's Irish Coffee". The other incredibly stellar thing about Lala's is that they serve Stubb's BBQ which is dished up next door (whatever you do, get the mac & cheese).

Spider House

Although not a traditionally Christmas-y bar, being able to sit outside in this chilly weather and enjoy these festive lights makes me happy. With daily happy hour specials and plenty of Christmas events throughout the month of December, you'll be good to go for the whole season!

Donn's Depot

Donn's Depot is wild because it's set in a former depot and old rail cars. Believe me, the outside looks like it. You might drive right by it if you didn't know where it was. But, during the holidays it becomes a warm and cozy epicenter of brilliant lights and fun Christmas cocktails. 

Salty Sow

Salty Sow has arguably one of the best happy hours in Austin. Whether or not you agree, you can't ignore the crowds that show up every week day to snag the awesome deals. Besides sweet deals on food and cocktails during happy hour, they have special seasonal cocktails available as well. They're all interesting choices but I recommend The Piano Man (pictured here). It's earthy and refreshing.

Also, I will be going home for the holidays so this will be my last blog post until the new year.
