When you think of New Orleans, you might think of Mardi Gras, beignets or ghosts but during the holiday season New Orleans has all of the charm (and the best weather). Here’s a list of what you can’t miss!

Celebration In The Oaks at New Orleans City Park

Dates: 11/29 - 1/1

Every year City Park’s famous oak trees are covered in over a million lights and light displays throughout the 25-acre park. It is one of New Orlean’s most beloved holiday celebrations. $10 admission gets you entrance to the park with the option to purchase a train ride and ride bands for the amusement park (yes, amusement park) to keep your little ones busy.

Miracle Christmas Pop-Up Bar

Dates: 11/25 - 12/31

The internationally sought-out Christmas Miracle pop-up is coming to New Orleans for the first time, taking over two craft cocktail destinations. From November 25 to December 31, Miracle at Longway Tavern will be open Monday through Thursday from 4 p.m. until close, and from 11:30 a.m. to close Friday through Sunday; Miracle at Barrel Proof will pop up every day from 4 p.m. until close. Sippin’ Santa, Miracle’s tiki-themed sister, is making a return to Latitude 29 on Monday, November 25.

Christmas Decor at The Roosevelt & The Ritz Carlton

Dates: The Roosevelt & The Ritz Carlton, 12/3 - 1/4 ish (dates vary)

The Christmas Decor and festivities at both The Roosevelt and The Ritz Carlton are award-winning. They also host plenty of festive events throughout the season including a tree-lighting ceremony and gingerbread house building. We didn’t stay at either of these properties but you can still experience all of the holiday wonder without being guests of the hotels.

Safe travels & happy holiday-ing,

V.
