Food Guide to Huntington Beach

Huntington Beach has only been growing in popularity over the years which is partially why it’s been so hard to write a food guide for it. Amazing restaurants are popping up every week! However, I used to live there so I feel that is my duty to not only share some new spots with you but some tried and true favorites as well.

Breakfast

One of my favorite all-time places to eat breakfast is Cafe Cup. It’s a really simple, no-frills, cash only type of place with amazing food and long lines if you don’t get there before 8 AM. Mama’s on 39 is another option if you’re looking for classic breakfast options with a homey diner feel. For something a little more extravagance or a boozy brunch, check out Stacked.

Lunch

If you’re in Southern California and at least a little bit adventurous, I would hope that you’ll be eating some poke. Bear Flag Fish Co. is my go-to and they have so much more than poke, everything from fish tacos to sushi. Sustainably sourced and amazing quality - I would gladly give my money to these folks. If fish isn’t your thing then check out 25 Degrees, a pub and burger bar.

Dinner

Every time I visit Southern California, I make it a priority to get Korean BBQ. At most Korean BBQ restaurants, you grill your own meat on a grill in the center of the table and it gives the term “playing with your food” a whole new meaning. There are literally thousands of places to choose from but I love Gen Korean BBQ because for a modest price, it’s all you can eat and there’s so many choices! For classically good sushi, check out Sushi On Fire. If you don’t want to sacrifice flavor but want something a little healthier then hit up Olive Pit Grill for some authentic Mediterranean food.

Drinking

The bar scene in Huntington Beach is incredibly diverse. For some sweet ocean views and a little more of an upscale vibe, check out Tanners or The Bungalow in the Pacific City complex. If you want to go bar hopping, Pacific Hideaway is conveniently located near Main Street which has a host of other bars on its strip. In the rise of craft breweries, check out Four Sons Brewing or Beachwood Brewing.

Safe travels and happy eating,

V.
